The future is already here —
it is just not evenly distributed.

__William Gibson

The digital has irrevocably changed our relationship to the generation and consumption of information. Our work explores the affordances of the digital in expanding the number and nature of participants in the design and construction phases of a project through the development of custom design and control interfaces (i.e. software, apps and plugins). This work seeks to support collaboration with the many stakeholders that all acts of design interact with, seeking the realisation of both discursive and operative frameworks that underpin the realisation of meaningful outcomes.

Over the years, this trajectory has included the design of demonstration and discovery software for intelligent building automation systems (e.g. Organic Response); parametric design models that enable user-groups to explore design variations calibrated to unique site constraints (e.g. Hobart Micro-Icons); and the development of bespoke design tools and plugins for use by other designers to advance their own project work (e.g. Smart Vault).

Interactive Design Tools
Custom interfaces and algorithms to interact with force-driven design tools that allow the negotiation of structural, material, fabrication and other design-driven goals.

ISOCO Au
Smart Phone Application interface design for electric bike and smart mobilty startup company ISOCO Au.

Hobart Micro Icons
Interactive maps provide localised content turning transport infrastructure nodes into peer-to-peer communication devices and community builders.
